About Brave Season Therapy
Brave Season Therapy is a specialized online therapy practice for women navigating some of life's most challenging relational and personal transitions.
I’m Kimberly Schildbach, M.Ed., LMHC. I work with women who are accustomed to managing complicated lives, making difficult decisions, and holding things together for everyone else. But when a relationship ruptures, betrayal comes to light, a divorce turns hostile, or the life they've built no longer fits, even the most capable women can find themselves questioning everything.
My work combines Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), attachment-based approaches, and more than 20 years of clinical experience to help women understand their emotional responses, process painful experiences, reconnect with themselves, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
Brave Season is a place for honest conversations, meaningful emotional work, and the freedom to explore what you want your life to look like now.

Who Brave Season Therapy Serves
Women Navigating Their Own Infidelity
You may have crossed a boundary, had an affair, or found yourself considering one. Perhaps you've been lonely, disconnected, or questioning what has happened to you and your relationship.
Therapy offers a place to understand your emotional needs, take responsibility for your choices, and explore what you want to do next without reducing your entire identity to a single decision.
Women Healing After a Partner's Betrayal
Discovering an affair or significant relationship secrecy can shake your sense of reality, security, and self-trust.
Therapy helps you process the emotional impact, understand what has been activated within you, and begin making decisions from a place of greater clarity rather than being driven by the immediate shock of what happened.
Women Navigating High-Conflict Divorce
Divorce can become emotionally consuming when communication breaks down, conflict escalates, or uncertainty follows you into every decision.
Therapy provides a focused space to process the emotional toll, strengthen your sense of self, and develop greater steadiness as you navigate a difficult transition. Therapy complements, but does not replace, legal advice or representation.
Women Facing Attachment and Relational Trauma
Experiences of abandonment, emotional neglect, betrayal, and inconsistent connection can shape how you experience yourself and your relationships.
Through EFIT and attachment-focused work, we explore the emotions and protective patterns beneath your reactions so you can develop a more secure relationship with yourself and others.
Women Ready for Midlife Reinvention
Sometimes the question isn't simply whether to stay or leave a relationship. It's whether the life you've built still reflects the person you're becoming.
Therapy creates room to explore grief, desire, identity, changing priorities, and the possibility of a next chapter that feels more authentically yours.

Insurance and Out-of-Network Reimbursement
Brave Season Therapy does not bill insurance directly or coordinate benefits with insurance carriers.
Depending on your clinical circumstances and insurance plan, you may be eligible to receive a superbill to submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. A superbill can be provided when the requirements for a clinical mental health diagnosis are met. Eligibility is not guaranteed, and reimbursement decisions are made by your insurance carrier.
Clients are responsible for understanding their insurance benefits and paying the full fee for services regardless of whether reimbursement is available or received.
Cancellation Policy
A minimum of 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session. Late cancellations and missed sessions are charged the full session fee, in accordance with the practice's cancellation policy.
Good Faith Estimates
Under the No Surprises Act, eligible self-pay and uninsured clients have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges for scheduled services. The estimate reflects anticipated costs based on the services planned; actual costs may vary if your care changes.
FAQs
What is Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy?
Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) is an attachment-based approach that helps you understand your emotional responses, recognize patterns that no longer serve you, and develop greater emotional security.
Rather than focusing exclusively on changing your thoughts or behaviors, we explore the feelings and relational experiences underneath them. The goal is to help you process difficult experiences, reconnect with yourself, and make decisions with greater clarity and flexibility.
Do you accept insurance?
Brave Season Therapy is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. A superbill may be available for eligible services when the requirements for a clinical mental health diagnosis are met. Your insurer determines whether reimbursement is available under your plan.
What happens after I contact you?
I respond personally to all inquiries. If the practice appears to be a good fit, you'll receive instructions for completing the intake process through a secure client portal. 72 hours before your session you will receive a link to your private meeting room by email/text.
Do you provide couples therapy?
Brave Season Therapy focuses on individual therapy for women. If you are seeking couples therapy or Discernment Counseling, please visit Kimberly Schildbach Therapy.
